Tributes and Condolences

In Memory of Nala posted by donnamarie mazzola
My Nala (1996-2008) is happy to find a kindred sister Nala in the world of spirit. She, too, was a bright, engaged and deeply sensitive soul who loved to play ball, go for walks, and herd anything that could be herded. One of her favorite things to herd was a large, hard plastic red ball, which she nosed about the yard as if she were a soccer player expertly maneuvering past the opposing team. Another special interest was jumping and barking to the sound of cymbals--she was wild about drums. She also loved agility class, as much for the interaction with other dogs and people as for the mental stimulation and sheer physicality. Full of life, she was very social. Part Australian Shepherd and part Amstaff Terrier, her coat was terrier short, but her coloring and energy was all Aussie. She passed into the world of spirit, at home in my arms, after losing her battle with bladder cancer (chronicled in the forum on dog.com as In Memory of Nala). In reading the story of your Nala, I am moved by the parallels in their personalities and interests, and convinced that they will find one another in the life beyond, where geographical distance is no barrier to their spirit connection. May they run and play and and dwell in divine peace and joy!
